About Chris

I have a theory that if you have a creative itch, you must scratch it.

I have had such an itch most of my life and it has grown over the past few decades. The itch has covered painting, drawing, papier-mâché modelling, zentangles, book carving, collage, biro art, leporello drawing and latterly, alcohol and acrylic work.

I am shy of exhibiting my work to others because I largely do it for my own amusement. However, my wife is my main critic and often sees something that needs to be changed for a better perspective. I rate her opinions very highly.

I have had little formal training in art, which I find advantageous because I have not been influenced by a particular artist or movement which can be the result of university art degrees.

Chris’ journey.

Thank you

Thanks to my youngest son for putting this website together and displaying examples of my work superbly.

Thanks also to my wife, Penny, for being honest in her opinion of my work and suggesting necessary alterations to improve the pieces. Also, when we visit exhibitions she will often say, “your art is much better than this”.

Thanks as well to my sons and their partners for displaying my art in their homes and my stepdaughters for doing the same. Other relatives and friends have done the same so, I have mini galleries across the world from Toronto to Perth, Beaconsfield to Malvern.

The visual displays would not have been possible without the expertise of Folkestone Printing in Cheriton and the friendly staff.
